Acceptable Use and API Terms

These rules keep GDELT Cloud reliable for API builders, analysts, and early commercial users.

Allowed uses

You may use GDELT Cloud for research, dashboards, monitoring, agent workflows, alerts, briefs, and internal analytical tools that respect plan limits and applicable law.

You may use API and MCP access to integrate generated GDELT Cloud Events, Stories, Entities, summaries, and geo discovery into your own workflows.

Rate limits and reliability

Respect plan limits, rate limits, pagination, and usage guidance. Do not scrape, parallelize, or retry in ways that degrade service availability.

If you need higher-volume access, contact hello@gdeltcloud.com so we can plan the workflow together.

Prohibited activity

Do not attempt unauthorized access, credential sharing, security probing, denial-of-service activity, data exfiltration, reverse engineering of private systems, or use designed to harm people or organizations.

Do not present GDELT Cloud output as guaranteed fact without appropriate review and context.

Internal use, attribution, and redistribution

GDELT Cloud is built from GDELT Project data and GDELT Cloud processing. Do not imply endorsement by GDELT Project or GDELT Cloud.

Your access is for your own internal business, research, and product use. Do not resell, redistribute, sublicense, republish, mirror, or re-serve GDELT Cloud Events, Stories, Entities, or other data to third parties — including as an API, feed, dataset, or hosted service — and do not systematically extract or cache it to reconstruct the underlying database or offer a substitute for GDELT Cloud.

Redistributing derived, materially-transformed signals to your own customers, reselling, or public high-volume use requires a separate written redistribution or OEM license. Contact hello@gdeltcloud.com and we will confirm the right plan, license, and data-handling terms.
